020 - HRHX Hotel Restaurant Interior, China

The design calls for the interior redesign of the third floor Chinese restaurant of the HRHX Hotel.

The design is a response to the existing column and window arrangements. A set of through paths are constructed to form the proposed dynamic corridor spaces, challenging the conventional restaurant corridor layout, allowing daylight to penetrate through to the shared corridor spaces, and adding unique character to each individual room.

Unlike conventional restaurant rooms that are enclosed on all sides and self centered in nature, the proposed room concept is for each room to have a visual connection with its own external space. Bamboo plants are introduced throughout the restaurant to provide privacy and warmth to the dining experience.
